UniGen Power Inc. is a distributed energy company established to design, manufacture, and market the revolutionary UPI 1000TA – a one megawatt (1,000,000-watt) power generator that outperforms incumbent technology by virtually every metric. Designed from inception to burn clean natural gas, UPI’s proprietary radial engine-powered genset is low-emission, lightweight, compact, versatile, quiet, efficient, and mobile. With an all-inclusive operating cost of less than $0.05 per kWh, the UPI 1000TA is equally effective as a prime energy source or as emergency / standby power. UPI is the 21st century energy breakthrough that provides cost-efficient, environmentally friendly, decentralized power generation (i.e., “distributed energy”). From a container no bigger than a medium-size U-Haul trailer, each UPI 1000TA can generate up to 1,000,000 watts of electricity utilizing natural gas. For perspective, that single megawatt is enough to power approximately 350 U.S. homes. Whether towed behind a pick-up truck, flown by helicopter, or installed on the roof of an office tower, the UPI 1000TA is an energy source independent of the grid and optimal for rural / urban use. Multiple units can daisy-chain together to generate up to 33 megawatts at a fraction of the cost of building traditional power plants.
Our Technology
By applying today’s cutting-edge design and manufacturing tools, methods and materials, UPI improves upon the time-tested and iconic aircraft radial engine. UPI redefines the durability of a radial engine (Patent 10,480,388) to industrial standards by adding patented technology (2nd Patent #, third patent allowed) of fluid cooling for versatility and integrating a sophisticated, proprietary control and remote monitoring system.. Taken together, our modernized radial engine driven generator – the UPI 1000TA genset – is smaller, lighter, quieter, greener, less expensive, more efficient and easier to maintain than any existing 1MW-capable power source on the market.
